Join former entertainer and educator Kerrie Ferrell for a slide show based on her book Rick Ferrell, Knuckleball Catcher. She will talk about father’s Hall of Fame baseball career in the major leagues. Born in Durham, NC, Ferrell was an American League catcher for 18 years with the Red Sox and Senators. Subsequently, he joined the Detroit Tigers as a coach in 1950 and within eight years, was promoted to General Manager and VP, where he stayed in the Tigers' front office until age 87. A N. C. Sports Hall of Famer, Rick was selected for induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame at Cooperstown, NY, in 1984.
